Team

Two people. A specific question. The operational infrastructure to go answer it.

About this page

This page lists the two people who run Brisa Haal day-to-day. Specific research questions, collection regions, and process detail are discussed in partner conversations under NDA. The advisors section is a placeholder; names appear as those relationships formalize.

Brisa Haal is not a university spinout. We do not have institutional affiliations or a publication record. What we have is a correct question about a material the research community is mostly studying wrong, and the discipline to build a field collection program around it. We partner with scientists who have the credentials and the instruments. We do the work in the water.

Leadership

Leia Henry-Camille, Chief Operating Officer

Leia Henry-Camille

Chief Operating Officer

Leia has spent a decade building and running operational systems for complex organizations moving fast. She is the reason Brisa Haal is incorporated, structured, and moving. She handles the business, the finances, the partner relationships, and the strategic direction. She is the primary voice in conversations with funders and stakeholders. She is also the one who will answer your email.

Matthew Rogers, Chief Technology Officer

Matthew Rogers

Chief Technology Officer

Matthew leads the field work, the research design, and the technical partner relationships. He built the four-stage collection methodology, he runs it in the field, and he is the primary voice in conversations with labs and research partners. His focus is on applied questions in biological and marine systems and on building collection protocols that produce results the science can rely on.

On credentials

Independent, rigorous, on the water.

We are independent researchers. We are rigorous about documentation, chain of custody, and the integrity of what we collect. We have advisors with the academic credentials. We are the ones who go get the material.

Advisors

External advisors, named when formalized.

We work with external advisors on a project basis. Their names and affiliations will appear here as those relationships formalize. If you have relevant expertise and want to be considered, the Get Involved page is the right place to start.
